When to Schedule Water Testing
If you draw your water from a well, you must have well water testing right away. Because the water from the well doesn’t pass through a municipal treatment plant, it must be treated before it enters your home.
If your water comes from the municipal supply, we recommend you have the water tested if you’ve never done so. It’s wise to have testing scheduled every five years or so, since many contaminants that may enter the water supply are not easily detected at first.
We advise you call for water quality testing immediately if you notice any of the following:
- Unpleasant odors from the water
- Metallic or other unusual taste to the water
- Water turbidity (cloudiness) or strange coloration
- Whitish, flaky deposits on plumbing fixtures
- An increase in illnesses in your household
The Water Testing Process
When you arrange for drinking water testing or well water testing with us, the process is a simple one that won’t interfere with your daily routine. We’ll send over experts to your house who know the fastest way to take samples of the water from around your house. We then send these samples to a laboratory, where they go through extensive tests. The tests look for alkalinity, acidity, hardness, and the presence of various contaminants such as microbes and heavy metals.
When the tests are complete, our team can show you a rundown of the quality of your water and its level of purity. If necessary, we’ll recommend one or more water treatment options to remedy quality concerns. We take pride in our honesty, and we won’t recommend anything we do not believe is valuable to protecting the health of your household and the plumbing system.
